Fla. Woman Allegedly Stabs Boyfriend in Eye with 'Rabies Needle' After Accusing Him of Looking at Other Women: Police

A 44-year-old woman was arrested in Miami after stabbing her boyfriend in the eye with what police termed a "rabies needle."

Sandra Jimenez allegedly jumped on top of her boyfriend of eight years at their home on Saturday night and stabbed him in the eye, according to an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE.

Jimenez allegedly used what the arrest report referred to as a “rabies needle” that the couple had in the house for their dogs to stab her boyfriend, piercing his right eyelid, the report claims.

Her boyfriend told police that he was lying on the couch when Jimenez allegedly attacked him, and said they had been in an “ongoing argument about him looking at other women” before they arrived at their shared home, per the report.

After the alleged attack, Jimenez fled the scene and her boyfriend called the police. He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for the injury.

Police later found Jimenez sleeping in her car outside her home. She was arrested and taken into custody before being charged with a domestic violence felony for aggravated battery.

According to local news outlet NBC6, Jimenez appeared in court on Monday and her bond was set at $7,500. She was sentenced to house arrest and ordered to stay away from her boyfriend after the judge found probable cause for the attack.

Attorney information for her was not immediately available
