Kamala Harris Campaign Spends Six Figures on Call Her Daddy Set, Declines Joe Rogan Invite

The Kamala Harris campaign reportedly invested significant funds—six figures—in setting up a customized stage for the Call Her Daddy podcast interview with Alex Cooper, where Harris aimed to connect with a younger, female demographic. Although the podcast's episode gained traction, drawing over 800,000 YouTube views, critics argue that the expenditure may not have been the most strategic move for the campaign.

High Campaign Costs and Funding Outcome

In a recent analysis by Gabe Kaminsky from the Washington Examiner, the Harris campaign's hefty spending habits were highlighted. While the campaign surpassed $1 billion in funds raised—more than the funds raised by Donald Trump’s campaign—this substantial budget did not translate into a win. By Election Day, the Harris campaign was $20 million in debt, largely due to extensive advertising investments totaling $654 million between July 22 and the final days of the campaign.

Declining Joe Rogan’s Offer

Another pivotal decision involved Harris declining an invitation to appear on The Joe Rogan Experience, one of the world’s most popular podcasts, where she could have gained substantial viewership at no cost. The offer would have required her to travel to Rogan’s studio in Austin, Texas, which she declined, preferring that Rogan come to her. This resulted in the interview never taking place. Instead, Donald Trump accepted Rogan’s offer, and the episode garnered a remarkable 47 million views in just two weeks.

In the end, the financial and strategic choices made during the campaign have raised questions about its priorities and effectiveness, particularly given the debt accumulated.
